Newborn Patagonian Mara Babies at Angel Valley Farm
At Angel Valley Farm, a very special event has just happened – our Patagonian mara family has welcomed newborn babies. These unique rodents, often called Patagonian cavies or hares, are born fully furred, with eyes open and ready to explore their surroundings from the very first moments of life.
From the entrance of their burrow, the babies quickly learn to move, follow their parents and interact with the rest of the group. During your visit, you can watch their first hops, playful “stotting” jumps on all four legs, and the tender moments when the mother comes to nurse them. These early weeks are the perfect time to see how social and curious mara babies really are.
Our newborn mara babies live together with their parents and other animals at Angel Valley Farm, including capybaras, alpacas and goats, creating a natural and peaceful mixed-species environment. A visit gives you the chance to take close-up photos and videos, learn interesting facts about their behavior, and understand why Patagonian maras are considered a near-threatened species in the wild.
Visits are available by prior booking, with small groups to keep the experience calm and safe for both animals and guests. Whether you are an animal lover, a photographer, a family with children, or simply someone who wants to witness the miracle of new life, our newborn Patagonian mara babies are ready to melt your heart at Angel Valley Farm.

Our story - Angel Valley Farm
Angel Valley Farm is a unique haven in Latvia, created from a deep passion for animal care, inclusion, and real connections between people and nature. It has grown from a simple love for animals into a place where every resident is treated with respect, gentleness, and affection, and where visitors of all ages can slow down and enjoy calm, friendly encounters with exotic animals in a safe, welcoming environment.
Our world first opened to others through daily routines and engaging livestreams on YouTube, where a loyal community gathered around our transparent, ethical approach to animal care and education. Each day, we share the lives of our alpacas, wallabies, capybaras, Patagonian maras, goats, sheep, rare parrots, Falabella horses, and other beloved animals, as well as animal‑assisted therapy, child‑friendly encounters, and inclusive programs thoughtfully created for people with disabilities and their families.
At Angel Valley Farm, the story is still unfolding, guided by compassion, community, and the quiet magic that appears whenever humans and animals meet with trust and kindness. Whether you visit in person or join our livestreams online, you are warmly invited to become part of our farm family and share in these moments of connection.
Our history - Angel Valley Farm
Angel Valley Farm was founded on the belief that meaningful human–animal connections can change lives and communities. Starting as a small family-run farm on peaceful Latvian farmland, it has grown from a handful of animals to a vibrant home where alpacas, wallabies, capybaras, Patagonian maras, goats, sheep, rare parrots, cats, and miniature Falabella horses are kept loved and cared for.
The early days were devoted to careful, ethical animal husbandry, and the unique charms of the Angel Valley residents—shared through YouTube livestreams and video stories—quickly drew public interest. Visitors from across Latvia and beyond began coming for guided animal encounters, walks, and immersive rural experiences, while online audiences worldwide tuned in for daily updates on the animals’ routines, personalities, and care.
As the farm’s reputation grew, so did its mission: Angel Valley became a pioneer in inclusive, therapeutic animal activities—hosting charity events for children with disabilities, launching rehabilitation and animal-assisted therapy programs with gentle Falabella horses, and supporting community wellness through nature-based learning.
Today, Angel Valley Farm thrives as a destination for families, educators, and animal lovers, honoring its roots in kindness, education, and responsible care—offering visitors, both onsite and online, a true sense of belonging in the world of nature and animals.
